What's an Emoticon, and where do you use Emoticons
An Emoticon or smiley is a series of standard characters found an a computer keyboard, formed in such a way as to express an emotion of some sort. Emoticons are commonly used in emails, forums, SMS and other forms of communication using computer keypads or keyboards. Most people have heard of smiley faces, or smilies, and these are the most popular emoticons (smileys or smilies) that people use to say "don't take me too seriously" expressed as :-). as you can see to the left, it represents a smiling face. The colon forms the eyes, the dash represents the nose, and the right bracket forms the mouth. so, emotions explained, below is a short list of commonly used emoticons and smilies for you to use in your chats.
