| Man sued after strapping pork chops to his feet A man who strapped pork chops to his feet and walked through a hotel is being sued by another customer who claims he slipped on the grease. Ross Lucock won the chops in a meat raffle during a night out at the Jannali Inn, Sydney, Australia. Troy Bowron says he was playing pool when he slipped on the pork fat and broke two bones in his left arm. Mr Bowron, of Oyster Bay, Sydney, is suing Mr Lucock, the Jannali Inn, and its licensee for $750,000 (£269,511), reports the Sydney Morning Herald. His legal representative in the civil claim, Frank Stevens, told the District Court: "One of the parties strapped some pork chops on their feet and started to move around the area where the pool table is located. "If you handle pork chops they become greasy and it is our position that the pork fat from the pork chops became strewn across the floor and made it inherently dangerous." The incident happened in 1997. Mr Lucock is also being sued for becoming intoxicated in a public place. Mr Bowron claims the pub did not supervise and maintain a safe place and failed to remove Mr Lucock, even though "he was inebriated and was clad with pork chops strapped to his feet". The hearing has been adjourned until next month. 14th January 2002 |
