| Ministers put anti-porn website online Two ministers have launched a website devoted to getting people out of the porn industry and stopping internet porn addiction. It includes a virtual prayer wall and an area proposing alternatives to the adult-film world. Mike Foster and Craig Gross, from southern California, also took a stand at an adult trade show to preach to the crowd. They came up with the idea for the site, XXXChurch.com after talking to parishioners and friends about surfing the internet. Mr Foster, 30, of Crossroads Christian Church in Corona, told the Los Angeles Times they started hearing about people looking for triple-X rated films and photos. The prayer wall on their site invites people to pray for their "own integrity and safety on the internet" and there's a section on suggestions for meeting others who also want to avoid watching erotica. The pair have also been attending the AVN adult trade show at the Sands Convention Centre in Las Vegas. Mr Gross, 26, from Mission Viejo, said: "If Jesus were walking the Earth today, we think that he'd be here too. After all, [he] hung out with prostitutes and stuff. "We're not here to judge anyone or to picket the show. We decided the best thing to do was to actually be in the show and try to talk to the people in the industry in a professional and respectful manner and not be confrontational." 14th January 2002 |
