| Police make arrest in stranger kissing mystery Canadian police have arrested a man they think is the mystery kisser who's been targeting both men and women. They've charged the 56-year-old with two counts of sexual assault. Nine strangers say they've been forcibly kissed and hugged in Toronto since November. The victims were unharmed but badly shaken after the alleged assaults, The Toronto Sun reports. Police say the victims described the suspect as a well-dressed, middle-aged man. Detective Sergeant Dave Perry says he approached unwary men and women with compliments and a handshake. "He then pulls his victim towards him and kisses and hugs them forcibly," he adds. The victims were all released after a brief struggle. Courts have ruled that unsolicited kisses are as much an assault as a punch in the face. They're also a sexual assault. 24th January 2002 |
