| 'Bombs' strapped to bank managers in robbery attempts Two Brazilian bank managers were kidnapped and forced to rob their own branches after having what they thought were bombs strapped to them. The robbers kidnapped the managers at night but waited until the morning before sending their hostages into their branches. They said they were watching the managers on video cameras and would set off the bombs by remote control if there was any trouble. One of the managers came out and gave the robbers £50,000 from Banco do Brasil in Sao Paulo but the other was stopped by an alert security guard, Jornal da Tarde reports. Police have taken both 'bombs' away for testing. They think they might be fake. 31st January 2002 |
