| Worm-fight pensioner fails to get compensation A woman in Germany who claimed she was kicked during an argument over a worm called Lisa has failed to get compensation. The pensioner claimed a woman kicked her after she confiscated the worm from children playing with it in a park. A court in Dusseldorf threw out the 66-year-old's claim because of lack of evidence. She was claiming £480 compensation over the alleged incident. The pensioner said she took the worm from the girls because she thought they were about to squash it. She claimed the girls' 41-year-old mother chased her down the street and demanded the worm back, grabbing her handkerchief, thinking she'd hidden Lisa inside. The handkerchief was actually full of her poodle's droppings. It was at this point that the pensioner claimed she was kicked. It's reported that Lisa survived the episode. 4th February 2002 |
