| Man charged with student's murder A 30-year-old student has been charged with the murder of a South Korean woman student whose decomposed body was found in a suitcase. Kyu Soo Kim, from Holborn, London, is due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday charged with the murder of 21-year-old Hyo Jung Jin, police say. The suspect was arrested on Thursday night and magistrates granted police an extension to hold him until Sunday. Miss Jin's body was found in a country lane at Askham Richard, near York, on 18 November last year but was only identified this month. A post-mortem examination found she had been suffocated. She was studying French at Lyon University and had been visiting the UK sightseeing. Miss Jin had stayed at London flats used by Korean students, police said. 21st January 2002 |
