Workman missing after building collapse
A search is resuming for a workman who is unaccounted for after a building collapsed in the centre of Aberdeen. The man is believed to have been inside when part of the internal structure of the building in Union Street fell at about 1700GMT on Monday. The fire brigade and colleagues of the man searched the property until the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Union to opppose Levi's plant closures
Unions at Levi's factories in Dundee and Bellshill have announced that they are to campaign against the closure of the two plants. Ian King, senior organiser for GMB, said it would fight the decision by whatever means possible. Mr King said it would be looking for political support in the UK and Europe. The union planned to take a delegation to Brussels to meet the company's senior management.

Knife attack treated as attempted murder
Police are treating as attempted murder a knife attack on two men in a house in Gourock, Inverclyde. Two men forced their way into the house on George Road around in the early hours of Sunday and hit a 54-year-old man on the head. He is receiving hospital treatment for a stab wound. A 24-year-old man who was stabbed several times is said to be in a stable condition. Two women, aged 55 and 23, who were also in the house, have been treated for cuts and bruising.
