| In brief.. Police refuse 999 calls Surrey Police says it will no longer respond to certain 999 calls. Officers say they are not prepared to deal with neighbour disagreements or minor road accidents. The force made the decision after statistics showed only one in five 999 calls made are genuine emergencies. It has also decided to stop attending burglar alarm alerts that are not suspicious, and abandoned vehicle call-outs. ======================================= £10,000 reward in murder hunt Detectives hunting the killer of a teenager have offered a reward for information that leads to a conviction. Tyrone Rowe was shot in the head in Tottenham, London last October. The 18-year-old from Tottenham died four days after he was discovered inside a car with serious head injuries. His killing could be linked to the none-fatal shooting of another 18-year-old, who was injured on the same day. ======================================= Motorist injured by flying tyre A tyre from a passing van has seriously injured a motorist changing a wheel on the hard shoulder of a motorway. The accident happened between Junctions one and two of the eastbound section of the M27 near Southampton on Wednesday morning. A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said the man was taken to hospital after the Leyland DAF box van, carrying a load of live chickens, lost one of its tyres. The tyre then careered at speed into the motorist. ======================================= Man and woman stabbed in street Police say that a 20-year-old student and her uncle, who were stabbed in broad daylight, were involved in a dispute with another man. The relatives were suffered serious stab wounds following the assault in Paradise Square, Oxford, at 1510 GMT on Tuesday. They were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital - their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being questioned at Abingdon police station. ======================================= Stadium disrupting residents' lives Residents living around the new stadium of Southampton football club claim fans are making their lives unbearable. Increased traffic and rowdy crowds in the St Marys area of the city are causing disruption during every home game, they say. Many argue the only way the problem can be dealt with is by building a new rail station for the stadium.
