| Rover and Vauxhall 'least popular cars' Rover and Vauxhall make the least popular cars, according to a Consumers' Association survey. Only 48% of owners would definitely recommend Rover and Vauxhall vehicles to a friend, the CA's Which? Car magazine said. Contrastingly, 87% said they would recommend their Subaru and 85% their Isuzu or Lexus. The good news for Rover, now called MG Rover, was that its recommendation figure had improved since a similar survey last year and its Rover 75 model was one of the most popular family cars. Which? Car also pointed out that cars generally seemed more popular with their owners this year than last. The survey showed: Among the most popular superminis were the Skoda Fabia and Toyota Yaris, while the least-liked included the Vauxhall Corsa and Renault 106. Popular small cars included the Subaru Impreza and Audi A3 while least-liked included the Fiat Tipo and Rover 25/200. The Nissan Primera and Honda Accord were among the most popular family cars while the Ford Mondeo and Rover 600 were among the least popular. Popular executive cars included the BMW 5-series and Jaguar S-type, while the least liked included the Rover 800 and Ford Scorpio. Top off-roaders were the Isuzu Trooper, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4, while the least-liked were the Vauxhall Frontera and Land Rover Discovery. Most-liked multi-purpose vehicles were the Toyota Picnic and Honda Shuttle, while the most unpopular was the Ford Galaxy. 6th September 2001 |
