| Choice of soup reveals your personality A survey says your favourite soup can also reveal your character. One thousand men and women across the UK were asked what their favourite soup was and were then asked to describe themselves. Carrot and coriander dominated the results of the Baxters-commissioned survey with 89% of those selecting it as their favourite describing themselves as loving. Out of another 13 possible options, a further 88% described themselves as broadminded, 37% as extrovert and 34% as bossy. Further results reveal 96% of those who show a preference for Chicken Broth claim to be reliable, 92% who enjoy Country Mushroom claim to be faithful and 89% of Thai Chicken Noodle lovers claim to be independent. Of the people who prefer Minestrone, 56% claim to be perfectionists. An adventurous streak is revealed by those who prefer Mediterranean Tomato although 54% also claim to be courageous and 53% excitable. It is regionally more appealing to 21% of the English compared to 11% of the Scots. Suzanne Chase, from Baxters, said: "We've had a lot of fun with the results and we are sure the next time you choose your soup, you may reveal more than you bargain for. "Food trends show that soup is eaten as an everyday meal, and we wanted to find out what soup choice says about personality - who knows, it could be useful to those looking for love!" 4th September 2001 |
