| Company car drivers 'unhappy with aggressive image' A new report says company car drivers are unhappy with their image as aggressive and careless motorists. Research for Peugeot has found that "Company Car Man" believes he is calm, thoughtful, mature and responsible. But company car drivers are 50% more likely to be involved in an accident than other motorists, and two-thirds of the three million company cars in Britain are the subject of an insurance claim every year. The research carried out on behalf of the carmaker has found that company car drivers argue that the increased likelihood of being involved in an accident is in direct proportion to their high business mileage. Rod Philpot, Peugeot's marketing director, says company car drivers are obviously keen to present a new image of themselves. "Company Car Man, as we know him, may be about to reach the end of the road," Mr Philpot says. The research has been carried out in advance of Friday's launch of a new advertising campaign for Peugeot's 406 model. 30th October 2001 |
