| Monkey suits and wooden leg left in hotel rooms A monkey suit and a wooden leg are among items left behind by hotel guests in New Zealand and Australia, according to a survey. Other property left in Novotel Hotel rooms includes handcuffs, buckets of sand, fake chest hair and a Darth Vadar mask. The survey of the company's 24 hotels also showed women are noisier hotel guests and more likely to leave their rooms in a mess than men. Women were also found to be more demanding guests than men with 75% of hotels surveyed saying they are more likely to ask for a room upgrade. The New Zealand Herald says men are more clumsy, with 93% of hotels saying men lost their room keys more than women and 67% saying they're more likely to flood the bathroom. According to 87% of the hotels, men are more likely to get locked out of their room when naked. The survey also found men to be more likely to be generous tippers, and women to be more likely to keep "souvenir" items from their room. 18th January 2002 |
